Request or renew a student membership

FFA is an integral part of agricultural education. To join FFA, you must be enrolled in an agriculture course at your school. Contact your school counselor or agriculture teacher to enroll in an agricultural education program and join FFA. Go here for more information.
Warning

The following states DO NOT allow students to self-register for a membership: Arizona, ArkansasCaliforniaColoradoFloridaGeorgiaIdaho, IllinoisIndianaMaryland, MontanaNebraskaNevadaOhioOklahoma, Oregon and Texas. Note: This list is subject to change. If your state does allow students to self-register, your chapter may not. Check with your local teacher/advisor before you submit a request. 

Locate the Request Form

  1. Go to FFA.org
  2. At the top, click Dashboard
  3. Select Student Members
  4. Scroll down to Account Settings and click Request Membership or Renew My Membership

    If you are not logged in to FFA.org, you will be prompted to log in.

Log in to FFA.org

If you already have a username and password, log in to FFA.org. If you don’t have an FFA.org login, go here for instructions on how to create an FFA.org login.
  • If you are a returning member and renewing your membership, you will need your Invite Code or FFA ID.
  • If you are new to FFA, you will not have an Invite Code or FFA ID.

Provide Additional Profile Information

If you just created your FFA.org login, you may be prompted to provide additional profile information before you can move forward. Enter your phone number (Home Phone or Mobile Phone) and valid Address (starting with the ZIP Code). Then, click Complete Profile.

Review/Complete ALL SECTIONS of the Member Self-Registration Form and Submit the Request

Register
  1. Keep the default Member Type, which is Student
  2. Keep the default Membership Year, UNLESS you want your membership to begin on August 1 of the NEXT membership year
    Example

    Our membership year runs from August 1 thru July 31. If the default membership year is 2019-2020 and you select 2020-2021, your membership will not begin until August 1, 2020.

  3. Select your State
  4. Select your Chapter – Use the drop-down menu or just begin typing the name of your chapter
  5. Select a Membership Type

    The types of memberships available is based on your state and/or chapter’s affiliation status. All grades are eligible for a One Year membership. Members in grade 13, that graduated high school during the most recent membership year, are eligible for a Three Year membership (if available in your state/chapter). Members in grade 12 are eligible for a Four Year membership (if available in your state/chapter). All grades are eligible for an Ag Ed Only membership (if available in your state/chapter).

Membership(s)

First-time members will not have any prior membership history in the Membership(s) section.

Returning members should see memberships from previous years in the Membership(s) section.

Important

If you are a returning member and do not see any past memberships, you might be logged in to an account that is not linked to your membership profile. Contact your local teacher/advisor before proceeding.

Personal Information
Some fields will automatically be populated with data from your profile. Review your personal information and make any necessary changes.
Important

National FFA requires First Name and Last Name. Those self-registering must also provide Date of Birth and Email Address.

Mailing Address
Your primary address will automatically be populated from your profile. Review your mailing address and make any necessary changes.
Important

National FFA requires a valid Mailing Address for all student members.

Additional Information
Some fields will automatically be populated with data from your profile. Review your additional information, add missing data and make any necessary changes. Then, click Submit Request.
Important

National FFA requires High School Graduation Year for all student members and High School Graduation Month for students in grade 12.

Your state may require Gender, Race/Ethnicity and/or Location.

Watch for a green success message at the top of the page.

Contact Your Local Teacher/Advisor

Your membership request must be approved by your local teacher/advisor. After submitting your request, contact your local teacher/advisor and ask him/her to approve your membership.
